NHS in crisis: support the protest on 3 February 2018

Who needs to know?
? All health branches

Summary:
This circular is a reminder to branches that on Saturday 3 February, there will be a national demonstration called by the People’s Assembly and Health Campaigns Together, to highlight the NHS crisis and to demand an end to the NHS pay

cap.
Local and regional events will also be taking place.

In full:
The NHS is in crisis, and the national demonstration on 3 February in London is taking place to raise awareness about the underfunding of the NHS and highlight damaging Government decisions and mishandling of the NHS. Local and regional events will also be taking place and more information can be found on the Health Campaigns Together website here
The current plan for the London demo is for it to assemble at 12.00 at Gower Street, WC1E near UCL Hospital with a rally (to be confirmed) at Trafalgar Square or Whitehall.
A UNISON leaflet has been produced (attached) and should be used to help spread awareness of the day and encourage members to participate in national or local activities on the day.
Action for branches:
Circulate the UNISON leaflet widely and urge those able to attend, to join us in taking a stand. The leaflet can also be accessed here: ?Click here
